I can has more time?
sillyLyn: hey you don't know a way to slow down time by any chance? XP so I can have another week before Otakon?
Ren: LOL.
Lyn: come on, you play WoW you should know like some type of spell or something you can work up XP
Ren: LOL. You know Narnia. You can just go into a wardrobe and slow down time. XD
Lyn: ! I didn't think about that.
Lyn: *goes into closet*
Ren: HA. I win!
Lyn: *comes out with several 100 years worth of costumes* aha!
Ren: TA DA! :DD
brb guys: in Narnia XP

P4 badge
accomplishedAnyone want a P4 badge-thingy?
This was the practice one to see what it would come out as. I'm embroidering my actual one directly onto the jacket. So this little one here doesn't really work for the jacket but if anyone wants it as like a bag badge or whatever, let me know and its yours. XP

Embroidered Patches?
curiousAs I've done some embroidery lately on some of my costumes due to having access to Mom's amazing uber embroidery machine...I can't help but think maybe I should take advantage of this and actually start making patches to sell and whatnot.
I can do practically any design as long as I have an image to scan on the computer. Haven't played yet to see if I can make an image already on the computer into a embroidery file yet or not but I'm sure there's a way. I can also do drawings that are then scanned but they are a tad bit harder to get the program to read right (trust me, I've had to do it before and it took forever -_-; But finally did figure it out.)
So I dunno, any ideas on what type of designs people would want patches of? And do you think it'd be better to have them be iron-on or stitch-on.
Just pondering, not sure if I'll actually ever go through with it or not unless people on here want certain ones. I'm very willing to make you guys ones as long as you pay me a few dollars for it and all. ^_^
And as an example of what I can do, there's the wing designs on my Suzaku and I'm going to be soon attempting the Persona 4 school insignia for my jacket.

Saint Seiya Lost Canvas OVA
cheerfulThe Lost Canvas OVA actually came out a while ago but I just watched the fansubbed version today (already watched the raw XP). I know that only maybe 3 people will even know what the hell I'm talking about here (I need more Saint Seiya friends, I really do XP haha) but I'm going to ramble anyways.
I really should read the manga already. >> But I keep forgetting about it. And on that note I need to catch up on Next Dimension (though not sure how far its been scanlated) and see if Episode G was ever finished scanlated...and really I should read the freaking original manga as I've only seen the anime. ^^;; I'm a bad fan. *hangs head in shame*
But oh man, its still taking me a while to get used to the different style but I do like Lost Canvas. I like Tenma and Sasha a lot more than Seiya and Saori. >>; So far anyways, lol. Let's see if they develop the same habits of their reincarnations do. Oh I hope not. lol And I do love Alone but its hard not to considering he's well...Hades vessel and my love for Hades never dies.
Oh god every time I see the armor in the opening...>>...some day....SOME DAY! Hades! *raises fist* ...I've actually even started pondering how I could do it. Maybe turn it into a project I work on periodically for several years...but I think I need to move out first just so I have room to put the damn thing that won't upset the parents, lol *cough* Anyways...
The voices are confusing me like woah though. I don't quite understand why they changed them all around like that from the Hades saga. Well so far... I just mean Miki as Shion is throwing me off a bit. And then Seki is the Pope...when he was Milo in the Hades Arc so I dunno, wouldn't it have made more sense to have him play the Scorpio saint? Though I guess it does make it seem more like a different character if he has a different voice. But still, those 2 voices confuse me. XP

crazy hair
tiredMy hair does interesting things sometimes...
This is what it decided to do today...
I have horns? XP
And ugh this sword...my hands hurt. The styrene arrived today but I fail at cutting straight and filling in gaps. Blaaaah.

why won't time go slower?!
rushed2 and a half weeks til Otakon guys...
And what's my progress?
Cloud - 60% (its mostly 'cause the sword is such a huge chunk)
Yosuke - ...I got the fabric? That's gotta count for something...right?
Raven - 0% ^^;; But then again I'm not going to get the fabric until the previous two are mostly done 'cause this was an "only if I get the others done" thing. But yeah someone talked me into making it early. -_-; Or trying to. Am borrowing a lot of stuff from her to make it work.
And I also want to fix Ciel up a bit. I might take the cuffs on the shorts off completely, make the shorts slightly shorter, and make new cuffs to see if I can get rid of the odd bunching issue on the sides. I think I know what the problem is, we shall see if I can fix it.
...gah! So much stuff left to do and I don't want to do any of it. I just want to play Okami. >>;;

MJ is dead
indescribableI know, I know, everyone's making an entry about it. But holy shit...the internet really did KO because of the news which is kinda crazy. I'm a little confused how. I mean was it just an overwhelming amount of people going on to check information about it? Either way, AIM crashed and the net went bonkers on my end.
But anyways...
It's a very strange bit of news. I mean I lost respect for the man quite some time ago and he really developed a lot of mental issues but I can't just laugh the news off. I feel sad. Why? Because when I was a kid I idolized that man actually. Yup, ok, I said it and I know everyone likes to make fun of me over it but yeah I was not just a fan of Michael Jackson, I was a fan. Actually met my first girlfriend and some of my very first online friendships through the fanbase.
It was always quite depressing to see someone you thought was amazing degrade before your very eyes. I stopped caring years ago but it used to really get to me. He was such a talented man, especially before the whole skin thing. I loved his early stuff like woah. And I must admit that whenever a song by him comes on, I find that I still know all the lyrics. ^^; And not just for Thriller and Beat It since everyone knows those.
But I remember at the age of 13 wondering how I would deal with the day he died. I thought it'd be a lot further off and so I'm just confused as to how to feel.
RIP MJ. Wish you had had a better fate...wish you had gotten serious help when you needed it (before you destroyed your body). You were my idol once so I shed a tear for the man you once were. Not the man you became.

sword time once more
contemplativeSo I'm once again attempting a Buster Sword. Hoping to get it to look a million times better this time.
Sadly am not able to make it out of wood at this time as none of the places had any pieces big enough of the wood light enough for me to actually hold and anything heavier would probably kill me. ^^;; And not really enough time to order anything.
So we're trying foam again as the base but this time a much thinner foam so its easier to shape and sand. So far proving to be a million times nicer looking.
However, I'm of course SUPER worried about how brittle its going to be. So obviously need to put something on top of it. But I have no idea what! So if any of you know of anything to suggest that can possibly make it sturdier, please do tell. I have a few ideas but not sure what one would actually work.

cosplay updates
creativeFirst off, I've uploaded a number of new photos over in my cosplay.com gallery so check that out: http://www.cosplay.com/gallery/m369
In other news, Cloud is coming along though I need some opinions.
Belt:
Good width or should it be a tad bit shorter? 'Cause don't want to add the bias tape on the lower end and then decide I need to cut it shorter. XP I followed Cassandra's lovely bias tape advice and did the stitch in the ditch method. Quite happy with it considering I had no idea how the pleather would work as bias. ^^;
Also not sure if I should use foamies or more of the pleather for the designs on the belt. Foamies risk a chance of cracking when its bent around my waist but don't know if the pleather would look silly or not.
Shoulder Armor:
Obviously haven't put the bolts on yet but still in the initial painting right now. Too bumpy? I know its supposed to be a bit rugged but I'm worried it might be a little too much so. I'd need to get more model magic if I want to try to make it smoother though as this was about the best I could do with sanding.

book meme
contemplativeStole this from
darthmarysue
Don’t take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you’ve read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in 15 minutes. Copy the instructions into your own journal...
1) The Last Herald-Mage Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey
2) The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
3) The Neverending story by Michael Ende
4) The Vampire Armand by Anne Rice
5) Catch 22 by Joseph Heller
6) Star Wars Young Jedi Series by Kevin Anderson (>>;; Shush, lol)
7) The Trinity Blood novels (not the best written but I love the story too much)
8) Song of the Lioness Quartet by Tamora Pierce (gotta agree with Louise on that one)
9) The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (considering I don't think the plays themselves count as books, though I haven't finished reading everything in my copy of this yet but I'm pretty darn close)
10) The Mysterious Stranger by Mark Twain
11) The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien (don't stone me but I have still yet to finish LOTR because for some reason they bore me while The Hobbit I've read twice...yeah I don't know, lol, I'm weird ok?)
12) The Ramayana (abridged version *hangs head in shame*)
13) The Odyssey by Homer
14) The Princess Bride by S Morgenstern William Goldman
15) "Monkey" (abridged version of Journey to the West *hangs head in shame* I actually do have a 4-part copy of the full version but have yet to read it ^^;;)
And I did not put these two on as they don't count as "books" (but then again several of my choices barely do either) but Paradise Lost and Faust also are two that will always stick with me (as obviously seen by some things in my doll story, lol). And Tale of Genji and Three Kingdoms were almost added just because I spent so much time studying them even though I'm not sure if I can say I "enjoyed" them in the pleasure sense. More I enjoyed from a scholarly point of view. In fact I almost feel like I should make two separate lists: books I enjoyed solely on a fun basis and books I enjoyed solely on a scholarly basis. As there is a very big difference in what I read between the two. lol

TRC 223 (actually read it this time)
disappointedSo...the rumor was true.
....hahahahahahaha....whut?
*points to icon* 'nuff said.
Excuse me while I go shoot myself in the head. Then maybe it'll stop hurting.
Feel free to discuss it with me if you've read it. I need someone to "ahpihphpighpbng!!!" with. >>

Yoshikitty?!
amusedSo I was going through X communities and stuff to see if there's any info I've missed as jeebies I've been behind in the J-Rock scene and I don't even know what's going on with the few bands I actually do care about. *hangs head in shame*
But yeah...this is old but...
http://gotochikitty.com/goods/promo
Yoshikitty?! ...
...>> I kinda want it. Yeah, ok. I DO want it. XP If I somehow am ever able to get my hands on some of that merchandise, I'd buy it. Yeah. Yeaaaaaah. LOL
~Lyn
TRC 223?!
worriedSo I read the spoiler blurb for Tsubasa 223...
...WHUT?!
CLAMP What are you doing?! Please don't tell me that means what I think it means. *bangs head against wall* You should've just left it as it is! Gaaaaaaah!
...I mean, I guess things technically would make a lot of sense that way and it would explain things rather well (and IRONIC LIKE WOAH) but...but....WHAT?! That's kinda...messed up.
*cough* And all that over 2 lines of text. lol Granted sometimes the spoilers are a little wrong or there's a misunderstanding in the wording. >> One can only hope. Otherwise, everyone else who reads, beware, we're in for one hell of a headache with this one. (But see, I was good, I didn't say what the spoiler was, now did I? XP Otherwise this would be lj-cutted but I know none of you want to know yet but I had to get my frustration out.)

just a reminder
calmI'm not going to be at AnimeNEXT this weekend. Since I've had several people ask already. XP
Kinda odd not going but then again each year I did go, I barely managed to go in the first place as its a hard to get to con for me as not many people around here go to it.
But to everyone going/already there...have fun! I'm very curious how the new location works so do report back!

SALE/GIVEAWAY
hopefulAs its getting closer to Otakon, its that time again for me to post whatever crap I'm selling. Got some new stuff, still got some of the old stuff, and am now willing to just give away a lot of crap or make any offers.

( Star Wars Junk )

power outtage
annoyedAround 4-something we suddenly got hit by this crazy-ass storm that didn't even stay very long but was pretty damn intense for the time it was over us. Major crazy wind, rain that was so heavy it sounded like hail, really loud and insanely long thunder, etc.
And what was the first thing to happen? The power went out! Of course. It always does here when we have any sort of biggish storm.
And I was playing Okami at the time. -_- I wasn't very happy as of course this means I have to go replay the part I was at. Boo.
So we were without electricity for around 8 hours or so. Was pretty boring though it did force us to take out the Lord of the Rings puzzle that hadn't been touched in like, hm, 5+ years. LOL Its this huge puzzle that we worked on whenever the power went out back in high school, most of it being done during the big ice storm where we were without power for several days. Actually got a pretty good chunk of it done between the three of us though we all got a bit frustrated (too many damn pieces that look alike).
And of course as usual the power goes on just when I was about to just go to bed out of lack of anything better to do. XP

my house is full of junk!
frustratedSo when Lyn isn't working...Lyn gets really antsy. She doesn't like the feeling of not doing anything. So she feels she has to do something.
On and off ever since college ended Lyn has been on this mission to try to make her living space (not her room mind you, Lyn only sleeps there and uses it as storage really, Lyn really lives downstairs in what was once a family room) actually look...decent.
Except every time Lyn tries to do this...she hits a rock. Or well really usually a gigantic stack of VHS tapes or a kitty toy that's never used or some unidentifiable-why-the-hell-do-we-have-t
So Lyn is back at it and frustrated only after a few hours of just trying to rearrange DVDs and videogames.
*cry* I just want to have space for things and for this place to finally stop looking like a mess. I got my room figured out but this space just never gets any better no matter how hard I try. T_T And its not all my fault as there is stuff belonging to my parents too down here and we're all such horrible horrible pack rats that never throw anything away. Gah!
Its horrible as I actually have to force myself to not look at something when throwing it away or giving it away, to not have second doubts, because I get so attached to everything. Everything. As a kid I would make everything into something amazing in my mind so even getting rid of some of the stupidest things is hard for me because everything has a memory. But a house full of memories is dangerous when you're tripping everywhere and have no space for anything new.
And well the real reason I don't invite people over very often is 'cause I'm also rather embarrassed by it. Though hopefully it will only be a few more years before I can move out and thus have a new space to arrange my stuff in and be forced to get rid of everything I don't need as I think that will finally get me to let go of stupid things I hold onto. *nod*

Memories T_T
nostalgicSo...I read the translation for the new Tsubasa chapter and it made me "d'aw" even though I'm a little "...." still on the current plot. But but...just when I had given up hope for seeing these characters as I thought the whole world thing was over...T_T
And so this resulted in me watching all of these over again...
'Cause believe it or not I actually was a big Magic Knight Rayearth fan back in the day. XP I still own both seasons on VHS and man I've been tempted to take them out again and have a mini marathon. XP Haha.
...I still want to cosplay Eagle some day. >> Still my favorite. (haha And the original Fai in my opinion.)
~Lyn
I really should stop watching new anime
blahDamn you 07-Ghost! Damn you...
*wibbles* T_T
So I started watching it after I finished Higurashi and got caught up on it last night in the anime. Oh my god was that depressing.
And a week til the next Pandora Hearts is way too much of a wait when I need my addiction fed. Argh I really wish the scanlations weren't so far behind.
Anyone watching either of these? I'd really love to have someone to actually discuss either one with. >> I know some of you are into it as I've seen icons and mentions of them on your LJs. *pokepoke*
